Creamy Chicken Casserole
A rich and comforting casserole dish featuring chicken, a creamy sauce, and a crunchy topping.
Ingredients
- β1 pound chicken breastboneless, skinless
- β1 cup all-purpose flour
- β2 tablespoons butter
- β1 can, drained and rinsed chickpea
- β1 box casserole mix
- β1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- β1 cup heavy cream
- βto taste salt and pepper

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Cook the chicken breast in a pan over medium-high heat until browned on both sides and cooked through. Set aside.

In the same pan, add butter and melt over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk together to make a roux, cooking for 1-2 minutes.

Slowly pour in heavy cream, whisking continuously to avoid lumps. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes or until thickened.

Stir in casserole mix and shredded cheddar cheese until melted and well combined.

Add cooked chicken, chickpea, salt, and pepper to the sauce and stir to combine.

Transfer the mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish and top with additional shredded cheese.
