Classic Pork Dumplings
A traditional Chinese dish, these dumplings are a staple of Chinese cuisine. They can be steamed or pan-fried, and are best served with a dipping sauce.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Ground PorkYou can also use ground chicken or beef if you prefer.
- β2 cups All-Purpose FlourYou can also use a combination of all-purpose and bread flour.
- β1/2 cup WaterYou may need to add more or less water depending on the humidity in your area.
- β1/2 teaspoon SaltYou can adjust the amount of salt to taste.
- β2 cloves garlic, minced AromaticYou can also use ginger or leeks for added flavor.
- β2 tablespoons Vegetable OilYou can use any neutral-tasting oil for frying.
- β20 pieces Dim Sum WrappersYou can also make your own dumpling wrappers from scratch.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, salt, and aromatic.

Mix everything together until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Add the water to the mixture and mix until everything is well combined.

Knead the dough for 5-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Divide the dough into 20 equal pieces.

Roll out each piece into a thin circle.

Place a tablespoon of the pork mixture in the center of each circle.

Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape, and press the edges together to seal the dumpling.

To cook the dumplings, bring a large pot of water to a boil.
