Beef and Pilaf Bowl
A hearty beef and pilaf bowl, inspired by Russian cuisine, with aromatic flavors.
Ingredients
- ●400g Beef (sirloin steak)
- ●250g Pilaf (rice mix)
- ●2 tbsp Aromatic oil (olive oil)
- ●1 medium Onion
- ●2 cloves Garlic
- ●1 tsp Dried thyme
- ●to taste Salt
- ●to taste Black pepper

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

Season the beef with salt and black pepper.

Heat 1 tbsp of aromatic oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.

Sear the beef for 2-3 minutes per side, then transfer to a baking sheet.

Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the beef reaches 63°C (145°F).

In the same pan, add the remaining 1 tbsp of aromatic oil.

Add the sliced onion and cook for 5 minutes, or until softened.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, or until fragrant.

Add the pilaf mix and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add 250ml of hot water and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until the liquid is absorbed.

Fluff the pilaf with a fork and stir in dried thyme.

Slice the cooked beef against the grain and serve with the pilaf.
