Moroccan Chicken Tagine
A delicious and flavorful Moroccan chicken dish made with aromatic spices and sweet onions. Serve with crusty bread or couscous for a hearty meal.
Ingredients
- β1 pound chicken thighsbone-in, skin-on
- β2 teaspoons aromatic spice blendstore-bought or homemade
- β1 large sweet onionchopped
- β2 tablespoons sellouMoroccan date syrup
- β2 tablespoons olive oilfor cooking
- β1 teaspoon saltto taste
- β1/2 teaspoon black pepperto taste

Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the chicken thighs and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the aromatic spice blend, salt, and black pepper, and stir to combine.

Add 1 cup of water to the pot and bring to a simmer.

Reduce the heat to low and cook, covered, for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
