Black Treacle Delight
A sweet and rich dessert made with black treacle and topped with a crispy delight crust.
Ingredients
- ●250g Black Treacle
- ●200g All-purpose flourfor the delight crust
- ●100g Unsalted butterfor the delight crust
- ●150g Granulated sugar
- ●50g Vegetable oil

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

2. In a medium saucepan, combine the black treacle, granulated sugar, and vegetable oil. Place over low heat and stir until the sugar dissolves.

3. Bring the mixture to the boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 5 minutes.

4. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool slightly.

5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and butter until crumbly.

6. Press the flour mixture into the bottom of a greased 20cm (8 inch) square baking dish.

7. Pour the black treacle mixture over the flour mixture.

8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the delight crust is golden brown.

9. Remove the dessert from the oven and let it cool completely in the pan.

10. Once cooled, cut into squares and serve.
