Classic British Trifle
A traditional English dessert made with layers of sponge cake, fruit, custard, and toffee. Each bite is a delightful combination of textures and flavors.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 cups Buttery Sponge CakeStore-bought or homemade
- β2 cups Mixed Berries (Strawberries, Raspberries, Blueberries)Fresh or frozen
- β1 cup Toffee SauceHomemade or store-bought
- β2 cups Whipped CreamHeavy whipping cream
- β1 cup PopcornFor garnish
- β3 cups Aerated CustardHomemade or store-bought

Cut the sponge cake into 1-inch cubes.

In a large serving dish, create a layer of sponge cake cubes.

Top the cake layer with a layer of mixed berries.

Drizzle the toffee sauce over the berries.

Repeat the layers two more times, ending with a layer of sponge cake on top.

Pour the aerated custard over the top layer of cake.
