Charred Paneer Gratin
A creamy, cheesy Indian-inspired dish featuring pan-seared paneer, topped with a rich gratin.
Ingredients
- ●8 ounces charred paneer
- ●1/2 cup, shredded polish cheesesuch as Gruyère or Emmental
- ●1/2 cup, shredded cheddar cheeseor other sharp cheddar
- ●2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- ●2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- ●1 medium, thinly sliced onion
- ●2 cloves, minced garlic
- ●1/4 cup, chopped fresh cilantro

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and cook until caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.

Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, until lightly toasted.

Add the shredded cheese and stir until melted and smooth.

Add the charred paneer to the skillet and stir to coat with the cheese sauce.

Transfer the paneer mixture to a baking dish and top with additional cheese.

Dot the top with the remaining 1 tablespoon butter.
