Tunisian Cheesy Tagine
A traditional North African dish, the Tagine is a flavorful stew made with rich ingredients.
Ingredients
- β250g CheeseGrated or crumbled
- β200g Cheesy sauceStore-bought or homemade
- β2 tsp Tagine spice mixAvailable at most Middle Eastern or North African markets
- β2 tbsp Olive oilFor cooking
- β3 cloves GarlicMinced
- β1/4 cup Chopped fresh parsleyFor garnish
- β4-6 Pita breadFor serving

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Stir in the Tagine spice mix and cook for 1 minute.

Add the cheesy sauce and stir to combine. Bring to a simmer.

Reduce heat to low and let cook for 5-7 minutes or until the sauce has thickened slightly.

Stir in the grated cheese until melted and smooth.

Transfer the sauce to a baking dish or individual ramekins.

Top with additional grated cheese and a sprinkle of parsley.
