Norwegian Fryke Kake
A traditional Norwegian dessert made with pan-fried cheese curds. Chewy and sweet, this is a unique treat to try.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Cheese Curds
- β1 cup Chewy
- β1/4 cup Butterunsalted
- β2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar
- β2 tablespoons All-purpose Flour
- β1 Eggslightly beaten

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add the cheese curds and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the chewy and cook for an additional minute.

In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and flour.

Pour the sugar mixture over the cheese curds and stir to combine.

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the mixture is caramelized.

Transfer the mixture to a plate and let cool slightly.

Serve warm, topped with a beaten egg if desired.

Note: traditional Fryke Kake is made with a type of Norwegian cheese called 'Frykeost'. If you can find it, use it!
