Algerian Shrimp Tagine
A flavorful and aromatic Algerian-inspired dish made with succulent shrimp and a blend of spices.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Shrimppeeled and deveined
- β2 tablespoons Citrusy Pastehomemade or store-bought
- β1 teaspoon Algerian Spice Blendavailable at Middle Eastern stores or online
- β2 tablespoons Aerated Olive Oilor regular olive oil
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- β2 cloves Garlicminced
- β2 cups Chicken Stocklow-sodium
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black Pepper
Instructions

Heat the aerated olive oil in a large clay or ceramic tagine over medium heat.

Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the shrimp and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Add the citrusy paste and Algerian spice blend. Stir to combine.

Add the chicken stock and bring to a simmer.

Reduce heat to low and cook, covered, for 10-12 minutes or until the shrimp are cooked through.
