Kenyan Curry Veal Stew
A flavorful and spicy stew originating from Kenya, made with tender veal and a rich curry sauce.
Ingredients
- β2 pounds Veal shankCut into bite-sized pieces
- β1 medium OnionChopped
- β3 cloves GarlicMinced
- β2 tablespoons Kenyan curry powderAvailable at most African or Indian grocery stores
- β1 can Coconut milkfull-fat
- β2 tablespoons HoneyOptional
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black pepper
Instructions

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the veal and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Remove the veal from the pot and set aside.

Add the onion and garlic to the pot and cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the curry powder to the pot and cook for 1 minute.

Add the coconut milk, honey, salt, and pepper to the pot.

Return the veal to the pot and bring to a simmer.

Reduce heat to low and cook, covered, until the veal is tender, about 2 hours.
