Tarte Tatin Chickpea Hash
A twist on the classic French tarte tatin, this recipe replaces the pastry with crispy chickpea hash for a gluten-free dessert.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 cups cooked chickpeas
- β4-5 tarte tatin apples
- β1/4 cup caramel sauce
- β1/4 teaspoon smoked sea salt
- β1 teaspoon french vanilla extract
- β2 tablespoons sugar

1. Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

2. In a large bowl, mash the chickpeas using a fork or a potato masher until they resemble coarse crumbs.

3. Add the sugar, smoked sea salt, and french vanilla extract to the bowl and mix until well combined.

4. Press the chickpea mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom.

5. Arrange the tarte tatin apples on top of the chickpea mixture.

6. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the apples.

7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the chickpea crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
