Crisp Middle Eastern Chicken Musakhan
A twist on the traditional Middle Eastern dish, incorporating Chinese flavors. Crispy chicken thighs served with musakhan and steamed vegetables.
Ingredients
- β4 chicken thighsbone in
- β2 cups musakhanstore-bought or homemade
- β1 cup green onionschopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β2 tbsp soy sauce
- β1 tsp sesame oil
- β1 tsp salt
- β1 tsp pepper

1. Preheat the oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

2. Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper.

3. Heat 2 tbsp of sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

4. Sear the chicken thighs until browned, then transfer to a baking sheet.

5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.

6. While the chicken is baking, heat 1 tbsp of soy sauce in the skillet over medium heat.

7. Add the chopped green onions and minced garlic to the skillet, and stir-fry until fragrant.

8. Add 1 cup of musakhan to the skillet, and stir-fry until heated through.

9. Once the chicken is done, let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

10. Serve the sliced chicken with the musakhan mixture spooned on top.
