Pan-Seared Slovakian Chicken with Citrus Crust
A crispy and flavorful Slovakian dish with a bright citrus twist.

- β1 cup buttermilkfor marinating
- β2 tablespoons citrus zestfrom 1 orange
- β2 tablespoons olive oilfor frying
- β1 cup all-purpose flourfor dusting
- β1 cup crispy breadcrumbsfor coating
- β2 eggsbeaten
- β1 teaspoon saltto taste
- β1/2 teaspoon black pepperto taste

1. In a large bowl, combine buttermilk and citrus zest. Add chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

3. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, crispy breadcrumbs, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

4. Remove chicken from buttermilk mixture, letting any excess liquid drip off.

5. Dredge chicken in flour mixture, shaking off excess.

6. Dip floured chicken in beaten eggs, making sure to coat completely.

7. Roll egg-coated chicken in flour mixture again, pressing gently to adhere.
