Almond Crusted French Toast
A delicious breakfast dish featuring crispy almond crust on top of a French toast. Perfect for a weekend morning.
Ingredients
- β1 loaf 4 slices of breadpreferably a day-old bread
- β2 2 large eggs
- β250ml 1 cup of milkwhole milk or a non-dairy alternative
- β100g 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- β30g 1/4 cup of sliced almonds
- β30g 1/4 cup of grated French almond
- β1.25g 1/4 tsp of salt
- β30g 2 tbsp of unsalted butter, melted

In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, and salt.

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.

Dip each bread slice into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly.

Place the bread slices on the skillet or griddle and cook for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.

Flip the bread slices and cook for another 1-2 minutes or until the other side is also golden brown.

Meanwhile, mix the sliced almonds and grated French almond in a small bowl.

Dip the cooked bread slices into the almond mixture, pressing the almonds onto the bread to help them stick.

Place the almond-crusted French toast on a serving plate and drizzle with melted butter.
