Crispy German Salad
A German-inspired salad with crispy fried onions and fresh herbs.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Crispy Fried Onionsstore-bought or homemade
- β4 cups Mixed Greenslettuce, arugula, spinach
- β1 cup, sliced German-Style Sausageoptional, omit for vegetarian
- β1/4 cup Fresh Parsleychopped
- β1/4 cup Fresh Dillchopped
- β2 tbsp German Mustardor substitute with Dijon mustard
- β2 tbsp Vinaigrettehomemade or store-bought

1. In a large skillet, heat 1-2 tbsp of oil over medium-high heat.

2. Add sliced German-Style Sausage (if using) and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.

3. Remove sausage from skillet and set aside.

4. Add crispy fried onions to skillet and cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.

5. In a large bowl, combine mixed greens, chopped parsley, and chopped dill.

6. In a small bowl, whisk together German Mustard and vinaigrette.

7. Pour dressing over salad and toss to combine.

8. Top salad with cooked sausage (if using) and crispy fried onions.
