Pan-Seared Hake with Korean Namul Salad
A flavorful and healthy Korean-inspired dish featuring pan-seared hake and a refreshing side of namul salad.
Ingredients
- β4 x 150g Hake fillets
- β1 cup Namul
- β1 tsp Korean chili flakes (gochugaru)
- β2 tbsp Sesame oil
- β2 tbsp Soy sauce
- β2 cloves Garlic
- β1-inch piece Ginger
- β1/4 cup Green onions

1. Preheat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat.

2. Season the hake fillets with salt and pepper.

3. Add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil to the pan and sear the hake for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.

4. Remove the hake from the pan and set aside.

5. In the same pan, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of sesame oil.

6. Add the Korean chili flakes, garlic, and ginger to the pan and stir-fry for 1 minute.

7. Add the namul to the pan and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, or until heated through.

8. Return the hake to the pan and toss with the namul mixture.

9. Season with soy sauce to taste.
