Crispy Buttermilk Fried Chicken
A classic Southern dish, this recipe features crispy fried chicken marinated in a creamy buttermilk mixture.
Ingredients
- β2 lbs chicken pieces legs, thighs, wings, and breasts
- β1 cup buttermilkshaken well
- β1 cup flourall-purpose
- β2 tbsp crispy seasoningstore-bought or homemade
- β1 cup stir-fry oilfor frying
- β1 tsp saltoptional
- β1 tsp pepperoptional
- β1 tsp garlic powderoptional

1. In a large bowl, combine buttermilk and chicken pieces. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

2. Preheat the oil in a deep frying pan to 350Β°F (175Β°C).

3. In a shallow dish, mix together flour, crispy seasoning, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

4. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off.

5. Dredge the chicken pieces in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.

6. Carefully place the chicken in the hot oil and fry for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
