British Crock Pot Beef Stew
A hearty, comforting British-inspired beef stew cooked to perfection in a crock pot. Serve with crusty bread for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- β1 pound beef stew meatcut into 1-inch cubes
- β2 medium carrotspeeled and chopped
- β2 large potatoespeeled and chopped
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- β2 tablespoons butter
- β2 cups beef broth
- β4-6 crumbly british biscuits

Season the beef with salt and pepper.

In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat.

Add the beef to the skillet and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. Once melted, add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional minute.

In a crock pot, combine the cooked beef, onion and garlic mixture, chopped carrots and potatoes, beef broth, and flour.

Stir to combine and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours.

About 30 minutes before serving, add the crumbly British biscuits to the crock pot and stir to combine.

Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh herbs if desired.
