Tunisian Masarepa Fritters
A crispy and flavorful snack inspired by Tunisian cuisine, made with crispy fried fritters and masarepa cornmeal.
Ingredients
- β1 cup masarepapreferably pre-cooked
- β1/2 cup fritterscrunchy, finely chopped
- β1/4 cup waterfor masarepa mixture
- β1/4 cup olive oilfor frying
- βto taste saltoptional
- βto taste pepperoptional
- β1/4 teaspoon garlic powderoptional

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine masarepa, water, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well to form a dough.

2. Add the chopped fritters to the dough and mix until well combined.

3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

4. Using a spoon, drop small portions of the dough mixture into the hot oil.

5. Flatten the dough portions slightly with a spatula and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown.

6. Remove the fritters from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
