Japanese Inari Zushi
A traditional Japanese dish made with sweetened tofu pouches and sushi rice. Inari zushi is a popular snack at Japanese festivals and markets.
Ingredients
- β1 cup sushi rice
- β2 packages inari
- β2 tbsp mirin
- β2 tbsp date syrup
- βto taste salt
- βas needed water
Instructions

Rinse the sushi rice and cook according to package instructions.

Prepare the inari by cutting off the stems and rinsing the pouches.

In a small saucepan, combine the mirin and date syrup.

Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until the syrup has thickened slightly.

Add the cooked sushi rice to a large bowl and pour the mirin-date syrup mixture over the top.

Stir the rice gently to combine.

Stuff each inari pouch with a portion of the sushi rice mixture.

Serve the inari zushi immediately.
