Thai Sirloin Steak with Khao Pad
A decadent and flavorful dish featuring sirloin steak served with a side of khao pad, a Thai-style fried rice.
Ingredients

- β2 cups khaouncooked jasmine rice
- β2 tablespoons pad thai seasoningstore-bought or homemade
- β2 tablespoons vegetable oilfor frying
- β1/4 cup scallionschopped
- β1 tablespoon fish sauceoptional
- β1 tablespoon soy sauceoptional
- β1 teaspoon sugaroptional
- β2 tablespoons peanut or vegetable oilfor stir-frying

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Season the sirloin steak with salt and pepper. Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Transfer the steak to a plate and let it rest.

Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in the same skillet over medium heat.

Add the chopped scallions and cook until they are lightly browned, about 2-3 minutes.

Add the pad thai seasoning and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Add the cooked rice to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, breaking up any clumps with a spatula.

Add the fish sauce, soy sauce, and sugar to the skillet and stir-fry for another minute.
