Croatian Andouille and Pilaf Skillet
A hearty skillet dish combining the flavors of Croatia with spicy Andouille sausage.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Andouille sausagecut into bite-sized pieces
- β1 medium White onionchopped
- β3 cloves Garlicminced
- β1 cup Croatian pilafcooked according to package instructions
- β2 tablespoons Tomato pastecrushed
- β1 cup Chicken brothlow-sodium
- β1 cup Dry white wineoptional
- β1/4 cup Fresh parsleychopped

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the Andouille sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.

Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.

Add the cooked pilaf, tomato paste, and chicken broth to the skillet.

Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

If using white wine, add it to the skillet and cook until the liquid has reduced by half, about 2-3 minutes.

Return the Andouille sausage to the skillet and stir to combine.

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes or until the sausage is fully coated in the pilaf mixture.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.
