Pan-Seared Sirloin Steak with Garlic Pasta
A classic combination of tender sirloin steak served with garlic infused pasta. This dish is perfect for a romantic dinner or a special occasion.
Ingredients
- β1 (1-1.5 pounds) sirloin steak
- β8 ounces pastapreferably penne or linguine
- β4 cloves garlicminced
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 teaspoon salt
- β1/2 teaspoon pepper
- β1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- β1/4 cup grated parmesan cheeseoptional

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.

Season the sirloin steak with salt, pepper, and thyme.

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the sirloin steak for 3-4 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Transfer the steak to a plate and let it rest.

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the garlic and toss to combine. If the pasta seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water.

Slice the sirloin steak against the grain and serve with the garlic pasta. Top with grated parmesan cheese if desired.
