Egyptian Lentil Pilaf
A flavorful and nutritious pilaf dish made with lentils, inspired by Egyptian cuisine. Serve hot as a side or add to your favorite meals.
Ingredients
- β1 cup, dried lentil
- β1 cup delicate, fluffy egyptian rice
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 medium onion
- β2 cloves garlic
- β1 teaspoon cumin
- β1 teaspoon coriander
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper
Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.

Add the lentils, cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.

Add the fluffy egyptian rice and stir to combine.

Add 2 cups of water to the saucepan and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the lentils and rice are tender and the water has been absorbed.
