Traditional German Meat Stew
A hearty and flavorful stew originating from Germany, made with tender Norwegian meat and a blend of spices.
Ingredients
- β1 lb Norwegian lamb shoulderCut into 2-inch cubes
- β2 medium Delicate onionsChopped
- β2 tbsp All-purpose flour
- β2 cups Beef broth
- β1 cup Red wine
- β2 tbsp Tomato paste
- β1 tsp Dried thyme
- β1 tsp Salt
- β1/2 tsp Black pepper

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Sear the lamb cubes until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Remove the lamb from the pot and set aside.

Add the chopped onions to the pot and cook until they're translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the flour to the pot and cook for 1 minute.

Gradually add the beef broth and red wine, whisking continuously.

Return the lamb to the pot and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 2 hours, or until the lamb is tender.

Stir in the tomato paste, thyme, salt, and pepper.

Continue to simmer for another 30 minutes.
