Turkish Dolma
A traditional Turkish dish filled with a mixture of rice, meat, and spices, wrapped in vine leaves. This recipe is a simplified version of the classic dish.
Ingredients
- β12-15 leaves vine leaves
- β1 cup long-grain ricecooked and cooled
- β1/2 cup ground beef
- β1/2 cup onionchopped
- β2 cloves garlicminced
- β1 tsp dolma spice mix
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper
Instructions

Rinse the vine leaves and remove the stems.

In a large bowl, combine the cooked rice, ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, dolma spice mix, salt, and black pepper.

Mix well to combine.

Place a vine leaf on a flat surface, with the stem end facing you.

Place about 1 tablespoon of the rice mixture in the center of the leaf.

Fold the stem end over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll the leaf into a neat package.

Repeat with the remaining leaves and filling.

In a large pot, combine 2 cups of water and 2 tablespoons of olive oil.

Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 30 minutes.

Add the dolmas to the pot and simmer for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until they are tender.

Serve the dolmas hot, garnished with lemon wedges and chopped fresh parsley.
