Delicate Venezuelan Empanadas
A sweet and delicate dessert empanada filled with blackcurrant jam, inspired by Venezuelan cuisine. Perfect for a light snack or dessert.
Ingredients

- ●1 cup Blackcurrant jamHomemade or store-bought
- ●1 tablespoon Granulated sugarOptional
- ●1 egg Egg, beatenFor egg wash
Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Roll out the empanada dough to a thickness of about 1/8 inch (3 mm).

Cut out circles of dough using a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass.

Place a tablespoon of blackcurrant jam in the center of each dough circle.

Brush the edges of the dough with the beaten egg for a golden glaze.

Fold the dough in half to form a half-moon shape and press the edges together to seal.

Use a fork to crimp the edges and create a decorative border.
