Croatian Bruschetta
A simple and delicious appetizer originating from Croatia. Fresh tomatoes and basil on toasted bread.
Ingredients
- β1 pint Datterini tomatoeshalved
- β+4 sprigs Delicious fresh basilchopped
- β1 loaf Croatian breadsliced into 1 inch thick rounds
- β1/4 cup Delicious olive oilextra virgin
- βto taste Salt
- β+1 cup Mozzarella cheeseshaved (optional)

1. Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

2. Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until lightly browned.

3. In a medium bowl, combine the halved Datterini tomatoes and chopped basil.

4. Drizzle the olive oil over the tomato mixture and season with salt to taste.

5. Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let cool for a minute or two.

6. Spoon the tomato mixture over the toasted bread.

7. If using, sprinkle the shaved mozzarella cheese over the top.
