Slovakian Potato Dumplings
Traditional Slovakian dish made with deliciously crumbly dumplings and boiled potatoes. A hearty and comforting meal.
Ingredients
- β2 large potatoes
- β2 cups flour
- β1 tsp caraway seeds
- β1 tsp salt
- β1 cup water
- β2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions

Boil potatoes in salted water until tender, then mash.

In a large bowl, combine flour, caraway seeds, and salt.

Gradually add water to the flour mixture, stirring until a dough forms.

Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and pliable.

Divide the dough into small pieces and roll each piece into a ball.

Flatten each ball into a disk shape.

Place a spoonful of mashed potatoes onto the center of each disk.

Fold the dough over the potatoes to form a dumpling, and press edges together to seal.

Cook dumplings in boiling water for 10-15 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
