Classic Hummus
A delicious and healthy Middle Eastern dip made from chickpeas, tahini, garlic, and lemon juice. Serve with pita bread or vegetables for a nutritious snack.
Ingredients
- β1 (15 ounce) can chickpeasdrained and rinsed
- β1/4 cup tahini
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β2 tablespoons lemon juice
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1/2 teaspoon salt
- β2 tablespoons water
- β1/4 cup hummus
Instructions

Drain and rinse the chickpeas.

In a blender or food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, and salt.

Blend on high speed for 2 minutes, or until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

With the blender or food processor running, slowly pour in the olive oil and water.

Continue blending for another minute, or until the hummus is smooth and creamy.

Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl.

Drizzle the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil on top of the hummus.

Garnish with paprika, parsley, or other herbs of your choice.
