Slovakian Pork Dumplings
A hearty Slovakian dish featuring roasted pork and homemade dumplings. Perfect for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
- β1 pound pork shouldercut into 1-inch cubes
- β2 cups all-purpose flourfor dumpling dough
- β1 cup warm waterfor dumpling dough
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β1 teaspoon caraway seedsoptional
- β1 teaspoon saltto taste
- β1/2 teaspoon black pepperto taste

Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

Season pork cubes with salt and black pepper. Roast in the oven for 20 minutes.

While pork is roasting, prepare dumpling dough by combining flour, warm water, and caraway seeds (if using). Mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough for 5 minutes until smooth. Wrap in plastic wrap and let rest for 10 minutes.

Divide the dough into 8-10 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and flatten slightly into a disk.

Place a tablespoon of roasted pork in the center of each dumpling. Fold the dough over and press edges together to seal.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add dumplings and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
