- ●2 teaspoons five-spice powder
- ●1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ●1 teaspoon salt
- ●1 teaspoon black pepper
- ●2 roasted red peppers
- ●2 tablespoons soy sauce
- ●2 tablespoons rice vinegar
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- 2
In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, five-spice powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder, making sure to coat it evenly.
- 4
Place the pork shoulder in a roasting pan and put it in the oven.
- 5
Roast the pork for 20 minutes per pound, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

While the pork is cooking, combine roasted red peppers, soy sauce, and rice vinegar in a blender or food processor.
- 7
Puree the mixture until smooth and set aside.
- 8
After the pork has been roasting for 30 minutes, brush the pureed pepper mixture all over it.

- 10
Let the pork rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
