Turkish-Style Kisir Pilaf
A flavorful and nutritious Turkish pilaf made with wheat berries and topped with a tangy kisir salad. Perfect for a quick and easy dinner.
Ingredients
- ●1 cup Dense wheat berries
- ●1 cup Glassy cherry tomatoes
- ●1/4 cup Turkish kisir
- ●1 medium Diced potato
- ●2 tablespoons Olive oilFor sautéing the onion and garlic
- ●1 medium Chopped onion
- ●2 cloves Minced garlic
- ●to taste Salt
- ●to taste Black pepper

Heat the olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute.

Add the wheat berries, diced potato, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.

Add 2 cups of water to the saucepan and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 20-25 minutes or until the wheat berries are tender.

While the pilaf is cooking, prepare the kisir salad by chopping the kisir and mixing with the cherry tomatoes.

Once the pilaf is cooked, fluff it with a fork and top with the kisir salad.
