Tahini Crusted Tacos
A flavorful twist on traditional tacos, featuring a crunchy tahini crust and a side of fresh salsa.
Ingredients
- β8-10 Corn tortillaspreferably handmade or store-bought corn tortillas
- β1/4 cup Tahini pastemake sure to mix with a little water to achieve the right consistency
- β2 tablespoons Lime juicefreshly squeezed
- β1 teaspoon Cuminground
- β1/2 teaspoon Chili powdermild or hot, depends on your taste
- β1/4 teaspoon Saltor to taste
- β1/4 cup Vegetable oilfor frying
- β1 head Shredded lettuceor other leafy greens
- β2 cups Diced tomatoesfresh or canned
- β1 ripe avocado Diced avocadoor guacamole

1. In a shallow dish, mix together tahini paste, lime juice, cumin, chili powder, and salt.

2. Heat about 1/4 cup of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

3. Dip each corn tortilla into the tahini mixture, coating both sides evenly.

4. Place the coated tortillas in the skillet and fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until crispy.

5. Remove the tortillas from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

6. In a separate skillet, heat a little bit of oil over medium heat.

7. Add diced tomatoes and cook for about 3-4 minutes, until they start to soften.

8. Add shredded lettuce and diced avocado to the skillet and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the lettuce is slightly wilted.

9. Warm the tortillas by wrapping them in a damp paper towel and microwaving for 20-30 seconds.

10. Assemble the tacos by placing a few spoonfuls of the lettuce mixture onto a tortilla and serving immediately.
