Egyptian Date and Date Wrap
A traditional Egyptian dessert made with a date-filled dough wrapped around a sweet date filling.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Datespitted
- β1/2 cup Date pastehomemade or store-bought
- β1/4 cup Coconut oilmelted
- β1 cup All-purpose flour (gluten-free)almond flour or coconut flour
- β1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
- β1/4 teaspoon Salt
- β1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Add the melted coconut oil and mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and pliable.

Divide the dough into 4-6 equal pieces, depending on how large you want your dates to be.

Roll out each piece of dough into a thin circle.

Place a tablespoon of date paste in the center of each dough circle.

Top with a few pitted dates.

Fold the dough over the filling, forming a triangle or a square shape.

Press the edges together to seal the dates.

Place the dates on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
