Mercimek Corbasi (Turkish Red Lentil Soup)
A traditional Turkish soup made with red lentils, onions, garlic, and spices. It's a hearty and comforting meal that's perfect for a cold day.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Mercimek (Red Lentils)Rinsed and drained
- β2 teaspoons Turkish Corbasi Spice MixAvailable at Middle Eastern grocery stores
- β1 medium OnionChopped
- β3 cloves GarlicMinced
- β1 medium CarrotChopped
- β1 teaspoon CuminGround
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black Pepper
- β4 cups WaterVegetable or chicken broth can be used for added flavor

Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
