Spicy Ackee Fritters
A Thai-inspired twist on traditional ackee fritters, with a spicy kick. Best served as a snack or appetizer.
Ingredients
- β1 cup, drained and chopped ackee
- β1/2 cup, finely chopped hash
- β1/4 teaspoon dried red chili flakes
- βto taste salt
- β1/4 cup, shredded american cheese, vegan alternative

1. In a large bowl, combine ackee, hash, dried red chili flakes, and salt. Mix well.

2. Divide the mixture into 6-8 portions, depending on desired fritter size.

3. Shape each portion into a ball and then flatten slightly into a disk shape.

4. Heat a non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat.

5. Add a small amount of oil to the pan and swirl to coat.

6. Add the fritters to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.

7. Remove the fritters from the pan and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

8. Serve the fritters hot with vegan cheese shreds on top.
