Saudi Arabian Chicken Shawarma
A flavorful and aromatic Saudi Arabian dish made with marinated chicken, served in a warm pita with vegetables and tahini sauce.
Ingredients
- β500g chicken breastcut into thin strips
- β100g grana padano cheesecrumbly
- β250g dull ricecooked
- β2 tsp arabian spicesmix of cumin, coriander, and cinnamon
- β2 tbsp olive oilfor brushing
- β2 tbsp lemon juicefreshly squeezed
- β4 bake naan breadwarmed
- β100g tahini saucestore-bought or homemade

1. In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, and arabian spices.

2. Add the chicken strips to the marinade and mix to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

3. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

4. Remove the chicken from the marinade and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

5. Warm the naan bread by wrapping it in foil and heating it in the oven for 5 minutes.

6. Assemble the shawarma by placing the cooked chicken on the naan bread, followed by a sprinkle of grana padano cheese, a dollop of tahini sauce, and a spoonful of cooked rice.
