Portuguese Fermented Dumplings
A unique fusion of traditional Portuguese flavors with the earthy taste of fermented ingredients, all wrapped up in a delicious dumpling package.
Ingredients
- β1 package Portuguese Dumpling Wrappersavailable at most Asian grocery stores
- β1 cup Fermented Earthy Mushroomssuch as shiitake or oyster mushrooms
- β2 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegaradds a tangy flavor
- β1 medium Earthly Sweet Potatoboiled and diced
- β1/2 cup Fermented Portuguese Cheesesuch as Queijo de Cabra
- β1/4 cup Fresh Parsleychopped for garnish
- βto taste Saltused to bring out flavors
- βto taste Black Pepperused to bring out flavors
- β1 tablespoon Olive Oilused for pan-frying

1. Preheat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

2. Add the olive oil and swirl to coat the pan.

3. Add the fermented earthy mushrooms and cook until they're tender and lightly browned.

4. Add the boiled and diced sweet potato and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

5. In a large bowl, combine the cooked mushroom and sweet potato mixture with the fermented Portuguese cheese.

6. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

7. Lay out a dumpling wrapper on a clean surface and place a tablespoon of the filling in the center.

8. Fold the wrapper into a triangle by bringing the two opposite corners together to form a point.

9. Press the edges together to seal the dumpling and repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

10. Pan-fry the dumplings until they're golden brown on the bottom, then serve hot garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
