German Apple Crumble
A classic German dessert featuring tender apples topped with a crunchy oat and butter crumble. Perfect for a chilly evening.
Ingredients

- β1 cup all-purpose flourfor the crumble topping
- β1 cup oatsfor the crumble topping
- β1/2 cup light brown sugarfor the crumble topping
- β1 tsp ground cinnamonfor the apples
- β1/2 tsp ground nutmegfor the apples
- β1/2 cup butterfor the crumble topping
- β1 cup pre-made german crumble toppingoptional
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Peel, core, and slice the apples. Place them in a 9x9-inch baking dish.

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Add the cold butter to the dry ingredients and use a pastry blender or your fingers to work it into a crumbly mixture.

If using the pre-made german crumble topping, sprinkle it evenly over the apples.

If not using the pre-made topping, add the crumb mixture to the apples and gently toss to combine.

Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
