Hearty German Stew
A traditional German stew made with tender beef, root vegetables, and a rich broth. This hearty dish is perfect for a cold winter's night.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds beef stew meat
- β2 medium carrots
- β3 large potatoes
- β1 large onion
- β3 cloves garlic
- β4 cups beef broth
- β1 cup red wine
- β2 tablespoons tomato paste
- β1 teaspoon dried thyme
- β1 teaspoon salt
- β1/2 teaspoon pepper

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Brown the beef on all sides, then remove it from the pot.

Add the onion and garlic to the pot and cook until the onion is softened.

Add the carrots and potatoes to the pot and cook for 5 minutes.

Add the beef broth, red wine, tomato paste, thyme, salt, and pepper to the pot.
