Ethiopian Fondue
A unique appetizer or side dish that combines traditional Ethiopian flavors with a gooey, cheesy fondue.
Ingredients
- β2 tbsp Ethiopian dish spice mix
- β1 cup Gooey cheeseA blend of mozzarella and feta cheese
- β1 cup Earthly mushroomsSliced or whole
- β1/4 cup Ethiopian beer
- β2 tbsp Butter
- β2 tbsp All-purpose flour
- β2 cloves Garlic
- β1 tsp Paprika
Instructions

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Slowly add the beer and stir until the mixture thickens.

Stir in the Ethiopian dish spice mix, paprika, and gooey cheese.

Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add the earthly mushrooms and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Transfer the fondue to a serving dish or fondue pot.

Serve immediately with bread or crackers for dipping.

Note: Traditionally, Ethiopian fondue is served with injera bread.
