Argentinian Empanadas with Roasted Beef Filling
A traditional Argentinian dish, these empanadas are filled with a flavorful roasted beef mixture and served as a savory snack or light meal.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Ground Beef80% lean
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- β3 cloves Garlicminced
- β1 Roasted Red Pepperdiced

- β2 cups All-purpose Flour
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
- βhomemade or store-bought Empanada Dough
- βto taste Argentinian Seasoning

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent.

Stir in the diced roasted red pepper and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

In a small bowl, beat the egg and stir in the argentinian seasoning.

Add the egg mixture to the skillet and stir to combine.

Season the mixture with salt and black pepper to taste.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the empanada dough to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.

Use a round cookie cutter or the rim of a glass to cut out circles of dough.

Place a tablespoon or two of the beef mixture onto the center of each dough circle.

Brush the edges of the dough with a little water and fold the dough in half to form a half-moon shape.

Press the edges together to seal the empanada and use a fork to crimp the edges.

Place the empanadas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush the tops with a little bit of water.
