Traditional German Split Pea Stew
A hearty German split pea stew made with tender and flavorful ingredients, perfect for a cold winter's day.
Ingredients
- β1 cup dried Split peas
- β2 medium, chopped Carrots
- β1 medium, chopped Onions
- β2 medium, peeled and chopped Tender peruvian potatoes
- β6 slices Earthy bacon
- β4 cups Vegetable broth
- βto taste Salt and pepper
- β1/4 cup, chopped Fresh parsley

1. In a large pot, cook the earthy bacon over medium heat until crispy.

2. Remove the cooked bacon from the pot and set aside.

3. Add the chopped onions to the pot and cook until they're translucent and starting to caramelize.

4. Add the chopped carrots to the pot and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

5. Add the dried split peas, chopped potatoes, vegetable broth, salt, and pepper to the pot.

6. Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, or until the peas are tender.
