Toad in the Hole
A classic British dish consisting of sausages cooked in a Yorkshire pudding batter, often served with vegetables and gravy.
Ingredients
- β4-6 SausagesChoose your preferred type of sausage, such as pork or Cumberland
- β1 cup All-purpose flour
- β2 Eggs
- β1 cup Milk
- β1 cup Water
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black pepper

Preheat the oven to 425Β°F (220Β°C).

Place a 12-cup muffin tin in the oven to heat up.

In a large bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 2 eggs, 1 cup of milk, and 1 cup of water. The batter should still be slightly lumpy.

Add salt and black pepper to taste, and mix well.

Remove the muffin tin from the oven and add a small amount of oil to each cup.

Place 1-2 sausages in each cup, depending on their size.

Pour the Yorkshire pudding batter over the sausages, filling each cup about 3/4 of the way full.

Return the muffin tin to the oven and cook for 20-25 minutes, or until the batter is puffed and golden brown.

Serve the toad in the hole hot, garnished with chopped herbs if desired.
