Ethereal Dal Tadka
A simple and flavorful Indian-inspired lentil dish. This comforting dal is made with red lentils, aromatic spices, and a crispy tadka topping.
Ingredients

- ●2 cups water
- ●1 tsp dal tadka spice blend
- ●1 small onionchopped
- ●1-inch piece gingergrated
- ●2 tbsp tadka oil

Rinse the red lentils and soak them in water for 30 minutes.

Drain and rinse the lentils, then transfer them to a large pot.

Add 2 cups of water to the pot and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook the lentils for 20-25 minutes, or until they are tender.

While the lentils are cooking, heat the tadka oil in a small pan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and grated ginger to the pan and sauté until the onion is translucent.

Add the dal tadka spice blend to the pan and stir to combine.

When the lentils are cooked, stir in the tadka mixture and season with salt to taste.
