Egyptian Kebab Chicken Shawarma
A classic Egyptian street food, marinated chicken kebabs served in a warm pita with fresh vegetables and tahini sauce.
Ingredients
- β2 tsp Exotic Spices Mix
- β4 Dense Pita Bread
- β1 lb Egyptian Chicken Breast
- β1 lb Kebab Chicken Thighs
- β1 Fresh Cucumber
- β1 Fresh Tomato
- β1 Red Onion
- β1/2 cup Tahini Sauce
- β2 tbsp Lemon Juice
- β3 cloves Garlic

1. In a large bowl, whisk together Exotic Spices Mix, lemon juice, garlic, and olive oil.

2. Add the chicken breast and thighs to the marinade, cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

4. Remove the chicken from the marinade and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

5. Meanwhile, toast the pita bread on the grill or in a toaster.

6. Slice the chicken into thin strips.

7. Assemble the shawarma by spreading Tahini Sauce on the pita, followed by the sliced chicken, cucumber, tomato, and red onion.

9. Grill the vegetables (cucumber, tomato, onion) for 2-3 minutes per side, or until slightly charred.
