Lamb Tagine with Exotic Spices
A flavorful and aromatic lamb tagine with exotic spices, perfect for a special occasion. This dish is inspired by the rich flavors of the Mediterranean region.
Ingredients
- β1 lamb shoulder
- β2 onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 inch gingergrated
- β1 tsp cumin
- β1 tsp coriander
- β1/2 tsp turmeric
- β1/2 tsp cinnamon
- β1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- β2 tbsp olive oil

Season the lamb with salt and black pepper.

Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Sear the lamb until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Remove the lamb from the pot and set aside.

Add the onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the garlic, ginger, cumin, coriander, turmeric, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper to the pot.

Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Add the browned lamb back to the pot and stir to coat with the spice mixture.

Add 1 cup of water to the pot and bring to a boil.

Cover the pot and transfer to the oven.

Braise the lamb for 2 1/2 hours, or until tender and falling apart.
