Chicken Tagine
A classic Venezuelan dish with a chicken tagine made with tender chicken, flavorful spices, and fragrant herbs.
Ingredients
- β1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs chicken
- β4 cloves garlic, minced garlicky extra
- β1 tsp ground cumin tagine
- β2 tbsp olive oil olive oil
- β1 cup chicken broth chicken broth
- β1 large onion, chopped onion
- β2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley dried parsley
- β1 tsp salt salt
- β1/2 tsp black pepper black pepper
- β1 lemon, quartered lemon

Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the cumin, salt, and pepper, and stir to combine.

Add the chicken broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.

Cover the pot and transfer it to the oven.

Bake at 300Β°F for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.

Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
